International Airport Kyiv

International Airport Kyiv

In 2009 UDP co-invested in reconstruction of Kyiv International Airport (Zhuliany).

On May 17, 2012 the construction of a new, very large terminal A, was completed. A completely new building in a very modern design of glass and metal was built and delivered as scheduled. The new architecture of the terminal is organic to the city; it is absolutely nothing like what was created earlier. The implementation of a large-scale project in the industrial real estate involves a complex series of works, from the analysis of effectiveness of reconstruction, development of the architectural concept, to investing, erection and commissioning. The participation of UDP as an experienced investor and developer provided the creation of a comfortable aviation unit of the European level in time. After reconstruction the Kiev Airport has taken its rightful place among the best airports in the country. The timely delivery of the updated object was held within the framework of the Ukraine’s preparation for Euro 2012.

The term of reconstruction was from April 2011 to May 2012.

Today the Kyiv Airport (Zhuliany) covers an area of 265 hectares. It has one runway 2,310 m long and 45 m wide. A new passenger terminal A is a three-storey airport terminal with the area of 14,000 square meters. After repairs and construction of a new storage for passengers it can serve up to 500 people per hour.

The passengers enjoy a complete infrastructure: ticket offices; post office; parking; currency exchange point; VIP-hall, official delegations hall; Zhuliany Hotel; 2 rooms for mothers and children; 3 Duty Free stores, restaurants, cafes and bars.

Zhuliany is a historical building of Kyiv with the 80-year history of development. The first crew of the regular passenger flight landed at the airport on May 25, 1924. Its territory houses the largest aviation museum in Ukraine, where many examples of civil and military aircraft are presented as open-air exhibits.
